The reason why some of the OPT IN employees pension is not calculating is because the Opt In employees can only start contributions in the following pay period.
- If the employee is paid weekly the Opt In will start in the next weekly pay run.
- If the employee is paid monthly the employee will only start contributing in the next monthly pay run.
TPR Guidance has clearly explained when Opt In contributions take place.
- The confusing TPR Rules state: For Entitled Workers the Opt In will take effect in the same pay period, but for Eligible and Non-Eligible job holders Opt In will take effect in the following pay period.
